Durbar was born from a vision to celebrate
Rajasthan’s timeless essence through an intimate
gathering of heritage, conservation, craft, and culture.
Our Story
At its heart, Durbar is a platform that honours India’s living traditions while carrying forward a strong
sense of responsibility for the land and its wildlife.
Inspired by the Great Indian Bustard—the rare bird that symbolises
Godawan’s commitment to conservation.
The festival brings attention to ecological preservation while
curating experiences that are mindful and rooted in purpose.
It is not just another festival, but an immersive retreat that invites you to slow down,
discover and connect with deeper stories of the region.

An Immersive Craft Experience
What sets Durbar apart is its scale and intimacy. Unlike large-format festivals, Durbar is designed for a select gathering, ensuring that every guest is immersed in curated, one-on-one experiences: heritage walks through forgotten forts, stargazing under the desert sky, fireside storytelling, wildlife conversations stories and safaris with experts and naturalists, and culinary feasts rooted in Rajasthan’s traditional flavours. Every aspect is programmed with care and intention, creating a retreat that is as rare and exquisite as the beautiful Great India Bustard.
One of the most unique aspects of Durbar is its musical programming—an extraordinary blend of folk traditions and contemporary artistry. Past performances have featured the enigmatic and soulful music of Arko Mukhaerjee Collective and the grand mastery of Ranjit Barot in Beatroute - an electro-folk spectacle directed by the brilliant Roysten Abel. Durbar brings audiences one-of-a-kind musical collaborations and musical encounters that exist only within the walls of Durbar.
